The Port Authority of Santa Cruz of Tenerife Today, Wednesday, the assembly of the first of the two pedestrian walkways included in the Maritime Defense and Management project of the puddle area of the Functional Area of ​​Valleseco.

Specifically, it will be the north footbridge, the closest to the facilities of the CIDEMAT, the first to take shape. For this, the corresponding formwork will have to be assembled, tasks that will be carried out on Wednesday afternoon, specifically from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., and that will force the port service road between Muelle Norte and Bufadero to be closed to traffic in said section. schedule.

This first footbridge, which connects the TF-11 with the future Zona de Charcos, will have a total length of seventy meters. After placing the corresponding formwork, concrete will be poured to remove the structure approximately one month later. It will be the same as the one used in March to build the second pedestrian walkway, the southern one, approximately 100 meters long, which will be erected near the facilities of the Maritime Captaincy tower.

At the same time, and now that the maritime work has been completed, Puertos de Tenerife continues to make progress in the works that are part of the aforementioned project, focusing on executions such as the completion of the docks, the assembly of plumbing, electricity and water installations in the two multi-use buildings, in the green slope configuration and execution, precisely, of the bases on which the north and south footbridges will be based.

These actions aim to achieve the integration of the seafront to enable the opening of the city to the sea and the recovery for the use and enjoyment of the citizen of this coastal space.

The execution of these works is the result of the inter-administrative agreement signed in 2019 between the Autonomous Community, the Cabildo de Tenerife, the Santa Cruz City Council and the Port Authority itself. The ‘Maritime Defense and Planning Works for the Puddle Zone of the Valleseco Functional Area, phase 2’, were awarded to the Joint Venture Dragados SA/Construcciones Elfidio Pérez, SL for a budget of 13,632,573.41 euros.
