He council improves the path of the Viña Grande laundries, in the center of Ginovés, within the municipality of garachico with a financing of 95,000 euros. The Minister of Natural Environment and Security Management, Isabel García, visited the work, which, she says, “guarantees the safety of people who access this Cabildo estate, both on foot and in vehicles.” This environment corresponds to the Protected Landscape of the Culata Cliff
“This farm is owned by the Cabildo -adds the counselor García- and with this reform, in addition to facilitating its access and improving security in them, we open a door to preserve the natural and ethnographic values of this area, since there are some traditional washing places to preserve”.
The interventions carried out have improved the existing path, as well as the landscaping adaptation of it, using materials according to the natural values of the environment.
The main operation that was carried out was the demolition of the existing block wall and its replacement by a steel fence, which guarantees the delimitation of the farm and the safety of the path against falls.

The fence is made up of modules 1.5 meters wide, ranging from two in height in the part closest to the entrance to 1.5 in the railing on the existing wall. Besides the masonry was repaired by means of a concrete gravity earth retaining wall and the section for the expansion and consolidation of the trail on the downhill side was improved. On the ground, the pavement was repaired by adding selected aggregates and then tamping them down.
On the raceway a new paving was placed to facilitate access to the entrance gate to the farm. Next to it there is a siding that was paved with a cobbled finish. In addition, a protection fence was built against risks of falls on the north side of the road and a new gate was installed. The pillars were demolished, like the block wall on the north side, and the doors were replaced by others made of corten steel and a different design; the pedestrian access area was reduced to one meter wide.
The Genovés laundries are a little-known place. Only the older ones remember what they were for the neighborhood. The source, located in the Viña Grande area, also known as Las Viñitas, brings water from springs underground. At the time it housed the transit of the hundreds of people who made up one of the most populated nuclei of the Garachiquense municipality.
