With the announcement yesterday in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of the definitive approval of the four modifications of the projects of the Tenerife Motor Circuit, the Councilor for Mobility of the Cabildo, Enrique Arriaga, announced that “the track will be tendered throughout this month and awarded in June, and the works will begin in September, as a greater evil.” As he indicated, the changes in the projects are motivated by adaptations to the regulations, such as, for example, in the case of the track, to make Formula 1 and Moto GP prototypes viable on it. “It is the result of four years of work to carry out an important project for the island of Tenerife”, stressed Arriaga.

However, the southern access to the circuit, plus the stands and other facilities, would still have to be tendered, because these are works that require the mandatory environmental impact report, which Arriaga hopes can be overcome without setbacks. As published by the BOP, “the modified project of the speed track in the Tenerife International Motor Park is drawn up by Gestur Canarias, with a favorable supervision report dated November 29, 2022, with an execution budget by contract ascending to the amount of 37,381,841.87 euros, coinciding with the bidding base budget, (7% IGIC included) and an execution period of 30 months from the day following the formalization of the certificate of verification of the redefinition”.

All this by virtue of the delegation of powers carried out by the contracting authority through agreement No. 21 outside the agenda of the Island Government Council, in a session held on November 2, 2021 and published in the Official Gazette of the Province. No. 136, of November 12, 2021. Said work project was previously submitted to public and official information, by means of an announcement inserted in the Official Gazette of the Province No. 145, of December 2, 2022, ending the period for submitting allegations. on January 4, 2023”.

other changes

The other three approved modifications, which appear in the BOP, are those referring to the avenue defense plan (6,261,227.54 euros), the second phase of the northern access (4,493,590.14 euros) and the paddock esplanade and mobile stands, with a budget of 8,319.844.89 euros and 18 months of execution from the reconsideration act.
