The signing of an agreement guarantees the continuity of the university campus

José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, mayor of Adeje, and Rosa Aguilar Chinea, rector of the University of La Laguna (ULL), signed the collaboration agreement by which the municipal Corporation will provide more infrastructure in order to guarantee and expand the Adejero university campus. Specifically, for the delivery of official undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, the consistory will provide municipal real estate, such as the Adeje Cultural Center and its annex buildings, as established in the agreement.

The rector of the University of La Laguna, Rosa Aguilar Chinea, pointed out that this agreement promotes the continuity of the activities of the university center in the southern municipality: “We will continue doing the same, studying the needs and potential of the current tourism sector and proposing initiatives that allow progress from knowledge and training, which are fundamental tools for development.

The mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, stressed that this agreement deepens the relationship with the academic institution. In this line, he defended that “we continue to advance hand in hand with the University of La Laguna, with which we have been working for more than two decades and will continue to be so.” The Adejero councilor considers “that the path to quality goes through training and, therefore, Adeje will always continue to invest in improving all those elements that are linked to training.”

guarantees the courses

With this extension of the agreement between the Adeje City Council and the ULL, the delivery of the official and specific degrees of the University of La Laguna is guaranteed. Among them is the Degree in Tourism, in addition to several postgraduate courses and continuous training activities and specialization through courses of various kinds.

Regarding the transfer axis, scientific and technological initiatives and projects will be carried out to support business innovation in the south of the Island. Finally, with regard to university extension, the agreement includes that the diversity of the population of the southern municipalities of Tenerife and a cultural and knowledge revitalization program will be established through academic and extra-academic activities.

“The coordinated work between the Adeje City Council and the University of La Laguna has served to improve the development of the region.” These words were pronounced last October by the rector of the ULL, Rosa Aguilar, during the opening ceremony of a Degree in Tourism course taught at the South Campus, the tenth consecutive one. They confirm the scope and relevance of the expansion of the collaboration agreement.
