The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Highways area, has completed the rehabilitation work on the TF-111 pedestrian walkway, between Valle Jiménez and Valle Tabares, in the municipality of La Laguna, making the infrastructure available to residents two months ahead of schedule.
The First Vice President and Island Councilor for Highways, Enrique Arriaga, stressed that with this project “a fundamental road has been put into operation to guarantee the safety of pedestrians and facilitate safe crossing between both sides of the road.”
In addition, he stressed that during the execution of the works “traffic has been intervened as little as possible, using signaling equipment to regulate detours.”
The island director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, wanted to recall that the footbridge, located at kilometer 8,575, had to be closed due to instability in its structure and explained that the works have corrected the problems it suffered and its structure so that it can be put back at the service of the residents with security guarantees”.
The Cabildo, through the Highways area, carries out periodic controls on the island’s roads and infrastructures to guarantee their safety. In this case, the works had a budget of 42,700 euros.
