The three most populous municipalities in the South are facing a year marked by large projects to facilitate mobility, improve safety and reinforce their commitment to environmentally friendly infrastructures.
In terms of security, Arona will reform the Los Cristianos office, located next to the cultural center.

The facilities, which will open this year, will be modernized and will have more material resources. The expected 20 security cameras will also be awarded and placed in the area of the veronicas (Playa de Las Americas). But the star project in the medium term involves the construction of the new Citizen Security building in Cho-Parque La Reina, the future headquarters of the Local policewhose location, next to the motorway, will allow a greater speed of police actions.

Granadilla de Abona is also committed to a new Local Police station that will begin to be built this year. The project, already drafted, contemplates a building on an area of 1,221 square meters at the intersection of Fundador Gonzalo González avenue, at the TF-64 crossing, with La Cima passage.

The new building will have a capacity for at least 150 people, including police officers, workers and operators, and will include, among other facilities, garages, a gym, a cell area and a training area.

Adeje will begin the final phase of the Productive Forest and the Central Park, with the adjacent building that will house a market and various spaces for public enjoyment and use.

It is a pioneering project in the South distributed over more than 30,000 square meters that will bring together 25,000 plant, fruit, ornamental, aromatic and medicinal species.

It is the great environmental commitment of a municipality that also stands out, in terms of sustainability, for the first local energy community to supply itself with sun through photovoltaic panels, together with an ambitious plan for greenways that will link the tourist Adeje with the historic Adeje and that will include energy saving and efficiency measures.

The initiative contemplates new infrastructures and roads to ease the mobility of vehicles and pedestrians. It includes a pedestrian bridge with a bike lane that will link Fañabé with the entrance to Adeje. There are also planned structuring roads that will connect the coastal area.

The most outstanding project in terms of mobility in Arona will be the connection routes between the port of Los Cristianos and the TF-1 motorway. The State has included a game of five million euros to promote the initial phase of the works. Likewise, with funds from the Cabildo, the pavement of the roads of Guargacho, Valle San Lorenzo-La Camella, the TF-653 and the TF-662 will be rehabilitated.

The largest municipality in population in the South will receive 12.5 million euros from the Cabildo budget to, in addition to resurfacing roads, carry out projects such as the coastal path and the adaptation of Las Vistas promenade. The State will also allocate two million to regenerate Los Cristianos Bay and Los Tarajales beach, one of the most anticipated actions for decades.

other performances

Adeje wants to take the first tangible steps in its star sports project: the construction of a municipal stadium. Arona intends to promote the first rehabilitation of public housing in the municipality, specifically in the Virgen del Carmen de Guargacho urbanization, while Granadilla will put out to tender this year the construction of a functional home and day center in San Isidro, a nucleus in which 30,000 reside people and that this year will also see the opening of the Farmer’s Market on a plot of 8,000 square meters in La Jurada.
