With the results of the regional championship – organized by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria by delegation of the Royal Canarian Sailing Federation -, and those resulting from the Naviera Armas Tournament Qualifying Regatta next weekend in Tenerife, the selection will be closed. that he will present to the islands in the national event at the end of February in Andalusia.
After Pol Nuñez (RCNGC), the podium in the men’s under 18 category is completed by Alonso Pérez (Club Deportivo Código Cero, from Lanzarote), who wins silver, and Claudio Cruijter, also from RCNGC, who wins bronze.
In female sub 18: Patricia Caballero (RCNGC) is gold; Gabriel Barreto (from Club de Mar Radazul, from Tenerife), silver and Laura Benítez (RCNT) hangs the bronze, in addition to gold in her category, which is the female sub 16.
The male under 16 podium is made up of: Gervasio Caballero (RCNGC), gold; Izán Gómez (CM Radazul), silver, and Guillermo Braco de Laguna (CD Código Cero), bronze.

The weekend regatta had 40 registered men and women from different islands, and with difficult conditions due to the presence of showers. The intensity of the wind oscillated between 13/17 knots on Saturday and 5/8 on Sunday. All 6 scheduled tasks were held, although the planned trapeze course had to be changed to windward/leeward due to conditions.
The ILCA class, the light sailing boat with the largest number of practitioners in the world, has three modalities that differ in size and sail design. ILCA 4 is the youth boat for girls and boys; ILCA 6 is the female Olympian and junior male, and ILCA7, the male Olympian.
Three Canarian sailors from the ILCA 7 class are part of the current Spanish pre-Olympic team that is preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics: Joel Rodríguez and Joaquín Blanco, -both of whom already have experience in Olympic Games- and Leopoldo Barreto.
