SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 26 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the Rural Patrol of the La Palma Island Company of the Civil Guard have rescued a man who had been injured in an attack perpetrated by his dog in his own home.
The events began when the agents received a request for support from the Los Llanos de Aridane Local Police to help a man who had been attacked by his dog, a breed considered potentially dangerous.
The dog’s owner had bite marks on his face and arms and was inside the house with the dog, which was in a very aggressive state.
For this reason, an attempt was made to sedate him with food while carrying medication inside, but it was not effective, so given the seriousness of the injuries, the Civil Guard agents, with the help of two protection shields and a lacing pole, agreed to the house to help the man.
Once he was rescued, with serious injuries, he was admitted to the island hospital and the Civil Guard patrol immobilized the dog to sedate him with the help of the veterinarian and leave him in the custody of City Hall staff.
