SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) have investigated the owner of a store selling animals located in the north of the island of Tenerife for the possible existence of animals in a state of abandonment.
Once at the scene, the agents verified how the hygienic and sanitary conditions in the store were unfortunate, in addition to the fact that there was no water or food for the animals, being able to verify in situ the death by starvation of several rabbits and hamsters, which had managed to get out from their cages in search of water and food.
The service was carried out in collaboration with the Animal Welfare Area of the La Orotava City Council, who facilitated the presence of a municipal veterinarian, as well as the municipal services for the collection and rescue of domestic animals.
The agents of the Civil Guard proceeded to prepare the administrative complaints to Law 8/91, of Animal Protection of the Canary Islands, for lacking an opening license Registry for the activity, thus leaving the establishment definitively closed for said activity.
The proceedings carried out, have been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 4, in charge of the Guardia de La Orotava.
