The Council of Tenerifethrough the Education and Youth area, has signed an agreement with the Santa Úrsula City Council for the Casa Verde to become one of the headquarters of the ‘Ponos’ project.

This programme, which aims to help young people between the ages of 16 and 35 to enter the labor market through training and meetings with companies, currently has six offices in Santa CruzLa Laguna, Candelaria, Arona, Guía de Isora and Los Realejos, to which Santa Úrsula will now be added.

The Island Councilor for Education and Youth, Concepción Rivero, and the Mayor of Santa Úrsula, Juan Acosta, signed this agreement in the company of the Councilors for Youth and Employment, Salomé Fernández and Marina Lorenzo, respectively, according to a note from the Cabildo.

Concepción Rivero assured that ‘Ponos’ “is a project that is growing exponentially due to its good results and the great demand it has on the part of young people, for this reason it is essential to have this headquarters in the northern region”.

To this, he added, “the importance of the administrations collaborating in the job placement of the new generations by creating projects that open doors for them in this difficult market.”

Likewise, the counselor assured that “the Casa Verde, recently inaugurated as a Youth House, is the ideal space in which to apply the training offer and the services provided by the Cabildo through the ‘Ponos’ program, ranging from courses and advice to meetings and workshops”.

For his part, the mayor of Santa Úrsula, Juan Acosta, was very satisfied with the choice of Casa Verde as the headquarters of the ‘Ponos’ project.

“We have state-of-the-art facilities and an excellent location, aspects that will undoubtedly be another incentive to participate in this training initiative that helps fight youth unemployment in this municipality and throughout the region,” he said.

Acosta also added that “all the tools are few when it comes to employment”, which is why they are “very happy” in the City Council to “accommodate this training resource that will favor the labor insertion of young people from this and other towns”.

Starting today, program participants will be able to use the Coworking Room and the Meeting Space of this house in different time slots.

In addition, they will have the opportunity to access the media library and the multipurpose room by making a prior reservation.

In these spaces, young people will not only have professional advice, but also meeting spaces will be created and training workshops will be given to enhance their professional profile, improve their CV and prepare them to find a good job.
