SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Teatro Guimerá in Santa Cruz de Tenerife will receive the European Outdoor Film Tour for the first time in its history on January 27, considered the largest mountain film festival in Europe.
This event of adventure sports films and documentaries arrives in the capital of Tenerife for its premiere in the city, with 120 minutes of adrenaline on the big screen, unique stories and protagonists that will take viewers to the wildest places on the planet.
The festival seeks to inspire adventurers and outdoor sports enthusiasts with eight documentaries covering disciplines such as mountaineering, mountain biking, trail running, paragliding, climbing, freeriding and alpine expeditions.
This festival is a journey around the world and through the most indomitable nature that, in addition to its projections, will be accompanied by the psychologist and mountain guide Jordi Rodríguez Roca as a special guest. With a multidisciplinary profile, he highlights the value of his experience and his training as a worker in a prison in Palma de Mallorca, using the mountains as a tool for the reintegration of prisoners.
Jordi has been working in the prison world in different centers and areas for more than 30 years, in a constant fight trying to avoid marginalization, lack of training and addictions suffered by prisoners. For a few years, this struggle has transferred her to social reintegration programs in the mountain context, where she develops new pioneering tools necessary at the individual or family level.
Jordi Rodríguez Roca has managed to spread his passion by making it more than a sport, to turn it into a neutral zone where each inmate deals with his past, with his possibilities, limitations and new personal projects. This program, over time, becomes a way of life and, within the prison, a healthier, fresher and more innovative habit to work towards the full inclusion of inmates.
The European Outdoor Film Tour, produced by the German production company Moving Adventures GmbH, arrives in Spain thanks to the Canarian production company Kinema Producciones. The world premiere was held on October 13, 2022 in Munich and has two stops in the Canary Islands among its more than 600 events in 27 countries around the world. inema Producciones has taken the European Outdoor Film Tour to nine Spanish cities, in what is its third year of touring Spain breaking audience records.
SPORT AND NATURE IN PURE STATE
The European Outdoor Film Tour is projected in its original version and will have sign language translation, to bring the use of foreign languages closer on the one hand and to break communication barriers in an accessible event.
This festival seeks to raise awareness, promote, disseminate the defense, protection and conservation of natural spaces, aligning itself with the 2030 Agenda for the Circular Economy of the United Nations and also of the Government of Spain, specifically in its instruments of ‘Awareness, Training, Participation and Disclosure’.
The faces of the eight short films in this edition show in first person the connection between the passion for nature and the practice of extreme sports, from a transversal vision of inclusion, gender equality, zero poverty, alliances, responsible consumption, sustainable cities, and favor of quality education.
In addition, Kinema Producciones joins forces giving added value to the festival with complementary proposals such as raffles for experiences and sports equipment among spectators, with gift tickets from the University Canoeing Classroom for kayak trips for two at dawn or at night and the material raffle Adidas Terrex Trail Running thanks to Running Project Canarias.
Host and emcee at the event, Deborah Sabina, will wear a dress designed 100% from recycled materials by Valeria (abissimoda) and Magalli (Rethinkyourgargab), and the event poster has been created from thousands of plastic caps by Precious Plastic Gran Canaria.
