SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 21 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

La Laguna City Council has concluded the selection process to incorporate 41 new agents into the Local Police force. The municipal website publishes the minutes of the last test carried out, consisting of a medical examination, which certifies the aptitude of the applicants. In this way, the process called by the Department of Citizen Security to reinforce the police force is put to an end.

The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, celebrated “the prompt incorporation of these 41 new agents, who will contribute to reinforcing the human team of our Police, which will result in a better distribution of the workload and therefore a better service to citizens and an increase in the levels of security and attention to emergency situations”.

A total of 684 applicants have taken part in this process that began in December 2021 and which has consisted of five phases: physical tests, psychotechnical tests, a test with multiple choice exercises, a development exam and a practical course on the program’s agenda; language test and, finally, medical tests.

The 41 selected candidates will join the Canary Islands Security Academy in March to complete their training. Those applicants who come from other local police forces will be able to see this training validated if they have already carried out the current training plan, so that they could join the staff of the La Laguna Local Police immediately.

The mayor thanked “the work of the entire human team in charge of carrying out this long and complex process” and wanted to recall that “it has been more than 10 years since there has been a public call of this type to improve the strength of the Local Police “.

At the same time, the local councilor stressed that “one of the commitments of this group of Government is to reinforce the staff in the different areas of the City Council to improve municipal management and service to citizens.”

In this sense, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez pointed out that the Presidency and Citizen Security areas continue to work together on new processes to continue incorporating more agents into the Local Police force and increase the police per inhabitant ratio.
