SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 20 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de La Gomera has informed that the period to benefit from the call for health and extraordinary aid remains open. Thus, the Island Institution facilitates the process to submit applications until next Monday, January 23, in order to meet the needs of the most vulnerable families on the Island and help cover expenses derived from the acquisition of glasses or prosthetic material.
“For this call we will have an initial investment of 800,000 euros, which may be expanded to meet all the requests that meet the requirements established in the bases that regulate it,” said the president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, after indicating that it is “an action with a large social component that has been carried out by the Cabildo for more than a decade.”
“The objective is none other than to continue being by the side of the citizenry, launching initiatives that improve their quality of life,” Curbelo said. Likewise, he wanted to remember that the last call for these aids were more than 800 people who were beneficiaries of these direct incentives.
As in previous calls, this year two lines of aid have been arranged. The first is health, whose purpose is to meet the cost of purchasing prosthetic material, glasses, contact lenses or hearing aids. Meanwhile, in the case of extraordinary aid, they will attend therapeutic treatments and actions related to the adaptation of homes for people with mobility problems, among others.
