SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 19 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The spokesman and counselor for Public Administrations of the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, has announced this Friday that the Executive will approve in a few weeks the decree that regulates teleworking in the public administration.

In a press conference to give an account of the agreements of the Governing Council, he has admitted that the term set by the State has not been met and now they are working on a rule on the basis that it may be “reasonable” to set up to three days a week but with a plan of productivity and performance indicators that “will be permanently reviewed”.

He has also said that both teleworkers and heads of service must be “engaged”, who will be in charge of authorizing individual plans and supervising them, and has stressed that the change must be made “in stages”.

“It is not that everyone is going to be at home for three days,” he pointed out, stressing that changes must be introduced in regulations adapted to face-to-face attendance. “It is our culture and it must be replaced by another regime,” she added.
