‘Amaziges de Canarias’, by Luis Socorro, is presented this Friday at the Museum of Nature and Archeology of Tenerife



The Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA)in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, has programmed for this Friday, the 13th, the presentation of the book Amaziges of the Canary Islands, history of a culturefrom the journalist specializing in historical heritage Louis Socorro. The event, with free admission until full capacity, begins at 7:30 p.m.

The Island Councilor for Museums, Concepción Rivero, assures that this appointment is “a unique opportunity to learn the details of an exhaustive work, where the author reveals important keys about the first people who inhabited the Canary Islands.”

Luis Socorro has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 1985 he wrote his first archeology news and, since then, information on historical heritage has been a constant in his career. “This book is the result of two and a half years of work”, explains its author, who in the last six months has traveled throughout the Archipelago to interview 57 professionals from the scientific community and further deepen the knowledge of the archaeological records.

The editor of the book, Jorge Alberto Liria, director of the Mercurio publishing house, has announced that the second edition of this journalistic investigation will be published at the end of January. Before it was published in book format, the eleven chapters of this extensive report were published for eleven consecutive weeks in the newspapers Canarias Ahora, the first digital newspaper in the Canary Islands, and in elDiario.es, with surprising reading success for a piece of scientific journalism. , since they have exceeded 215,000 readings in both publications.
