The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, announced a reinforcement of the work that has been carried out since December 15 in the La Campana industrial estatein the municipality of El Rosario, doubling the shifts and extending the hours from Monday to Sunday, so that they can finish as soon as possible.

This was reported during the visit he made yesterday, accompanied by a group of companies from the industrial estate, to one of the areas where the first works to improve the facilities of the industrial estate and the construction of rainwater facilities are being carried out, which has with a total investment of 13 million euros, 90% financed by the Cabildo de Tenerife9% by businessmen and businesswomen, while the remaining 1% is the responsibility of the municipal Corporation.

The visit was also attended by the Island Councilor for Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso; the CEO of Gestur, Juan Miguel Martín Zarza; the Gestur construction manager, Manuel Galván, and the president of the La Campana Industrial Estate Conservation Entity, Facundo García, along with other business representatives from the area and from the winning joint venture.

Pedro Martín emphasized “the situation of deterioration and abandonment that the La Campana industrial estate has been dragging for many years and that with these works we hope to be able to solve once and for all, fulfilling one of the objectives that we set ourselves in this mandate and giving a definitive boost to the activity of the more than 300 companies that operate in the area”. In this sense, he recalled that since the arrival of the current government team, the necessary steps have been taken to resolve this situation.

Work planning

Regarding the planning of the works, he assured that “they will be carried out in coordination with the companies of the industrial estate, so that in no case do they hinder the normal development of their activity and he proposed to the businessmen to hold periodic meetings to give them a detailed account of the works ”.

A proposal that was very well received by the president of the conservative entity of the polygon, Facundo Santana, who highlighted “the dialogue that the current island government maintains with the businessmen of the area and thanked the president for his proposal to be able to monitor the works”.

The president added that this project joins other notable investments of the Cabildo de Tenerife to respond to serious problems that the industrial estate was experiencing. “La Campana is the first industrial estate in the Canary Islands to have its own treatment plant to treat its wastewater thanks to the island investment of 1.5 million euros that we have made during this term, which has provided a solution to a problem historic municipality,” he said.

Pedro Martín also highlighted the investment to improve rainwater collection and prevent water runoff from reaching the highway in the event of rain.

Hiring

For her part, Carmen Luz Baso explained that “the execution of the works entails the hiring of a team of 20 people, who will be divided into two shifts so that the works can be kept active seven days a week.” In addition, she added that before starting the work, they have proceeded to reinforce road signs, both horizontal and vertical, and signage, and to repair manhole covers and manholes on the road, which were dangerous for vehicle traffic.

The island councilor explained that the list of planned works includes improvements to sanitation, low and medium voltage facilities, public lighting, telecommunications, as well as asphalting and paving throughout the area.
