The Santiago del Teide City Council is preparing the second sporting event of the year, the XVII edition of the Vertical Ascent of the Baker, which will take place on February 4 from 5:00 p.m.
The departure will take place from the Abelardo González de Tamaimo square towards El Retamar, then it passes through Las Manchas and ends in Arguayo, specifically in the town square, with a total positive ascent of 468 meters for a total of 5,760 meters of travel. .
In this sense, registrations are now open at the price of €10 for the general public, being free for people registered in Santiago del Teide at the following link:

Only those people who are 16 years of age or older on the day of the test can register, in the case of minors, they must submit the duly completed parental authorization, which can be found on the page of the department.
It is the organization of one of the oldest mountain races in Tenerife and it takes place through an incomparable natural setting, the climb from Tamaimo to El Retamar where its vegetation surrounds you; the arrival at the upper area of Las Manchas where you can appreciate the views towards the island of La Gomera, the Valley of Santiago del Teide, etc and, finally, the descent towards Arguayo accompanied by the Roque de Arguayo.
