SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7 Jan. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Royal Camp installed in the Parque de La Constitución de La Laguna (Tenerife) received the visit of 21,711 people during the ten days of activity that kept its doors open to the public, despite having to cancel four of the days initially planned due to the bad weather.
The mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, stressed that the initiative “has been a complete success in terms of attendance and participation in the activities. Despite the days when the storm prevented the opening of the Camp, the organization made an enormous effort to be able to double the sessions and that all the people who had their ticket, mostly boys and girls, could attend this appointment”.
The mayor thanked the entire human team, made up of more than 80 people who have taken part directly or indirectly in the Camp, “for their high degree of involvement in these two weeks”, as well as the device deployed on January 5 , at the reception for the Three Wise Men and the Great Parade, in which hundreds of people took part.
The Plaza de la Navidad, the enclosure enclosed in the Plaza del Cristo as a revitalization area in these festivities, also had the favor of residents and visitors. “It has been another great point of attraction for our city on these dates,” said the mayor. “From the outset we are committed to decentralizing the offer of activities, to decongest the streets of the center, and the initiative has been endorsed by the citizens,” he added.
According to calculations estimated by the La Laguna Zona Comercial Association (LLZC), more than 10,000 people were able to enjoy the synthetic ice skating rink enabled since January 4 in the Plaza del Cristo, which also included various activities such as musical performances live, craft stalls, craft beers and mulled wine, food trucks and a children’s train of illusion, among other actions promoted by the La Laguna City Council, through its Culture and Festival areas, the LLZC Association and the Federation of Urban Areas of the Canary Islands (Fauca).
The mayor has also stressed that the lighting deployed since the end of November by the Municipal Services area in all parts of the city and in the different towns and neighborhoods of the municipality “has been another of the factors that have made La Laguna a point nerve center of Christmas in the Canary Islands”.
The city has been, according to the local councilor, “a model of revitalization and offer of leisure and cultural activities on these dates, and this has been reflected in the result of the commercial campaign. “The first estimate of the sales figures Compared to the year before the pandemic, they will be announced in the coming days, but we can now advance that they are very positive and ratify the economic and commercial takeoff of La Laguna,” the mayor added.
