The Salvar La Tejita collective has denounced this Thursday that the promoter of the hotel that stands in the homonymous place has resumed the works during the Christmas period, digging “just on the limit where the stoppage order prohibits any activity.”
This activity, says Salvar La Tejita in a statement, “contradicts the text of the stoppage order, which stipulates that a new project must be presented to compensate for the modification of the maritime protection easement.”
Also, remember that they have denounced the project license and that the trial date is pending.
Salvar La Tejita adds that the second project by the same promoter, Grupo Viqueira, in this area, called ‘Sotavento Suites’, is also “irregular”.
It details that in June 2022, in the absence of the mandatory building permit sign, it formally requested information on the work, which occupies 440 meters of easement, for which reason it requires specific authorizations from the Coasts and the Government of the Canary Islands.
The Granadilla City Council, says Salvar La Tejita, “did not respond”, for which the Ombudsman was denounced, who requested the pertinent information from the administration.
Although the city council responded to the Ombudsman more than a month ago stating that it would present the documentation “until now it has not done so,” denounces the group.
Therefore, in addition to the action taken against the City Council by the Ombudsman, Salvar La Tejita is preparing legal actions against the mayor and the Town Planning councilor.
Remember that he has already denounced the councilor for alleged crimes against the environment and warns that he will continue to take legal action “against any construction or commercial activity that causes damage to the environment in the area.”
And that it will use “all available legal instruments and mechanisms to ensure that any politician, civil servant, architect or businessman who tries to break the law will face justice.”
