Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa) and Metrotenerife, transport companies of the Cabildo de Tenerife, have registered 12,768 ticket recharges during the first two days of free transport passes. The First Vice President and Island Councilor for Mobility, Enrique Arriaga, explains that “with the return of the students to the classroom next week, sales will once again increase considerably” and adds that “the start of the bonus has coincided with a day holiday in which people do not use public transport regularly, for this reason we have preferred to combine data from the first two days”.
In addition, Arriaga details that “the resident season ticket has been the most demanded, with 6,569 recharges, followed by the youth season ticket, with 4,099 recharges, the senior monthly season ticket with 992 and the monthly season ticket for people with disabilities, 332.
The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, emphasizes that “free is designed to favor frequent users of transport, so it will reward nominal tickets.” Along these lines, he recalls that “after this first month of application of the rate, those who wish to maintain it must comply with the stipulated number of trips to be considered a frequent user, which is set at 15”.
The request for registered titles for both buses and trams can be made through the website www.tenmas.es and has an issuance cost of 5 euros that is paid at the time of collection. To carry out this procedure, a photograph of the user is necessary, as well as one of their identity document on both sides. Once requested, it will be received within approximately ten days.
