The spokesman for Alternativa Icodense (AI) in the Icod de los Vinos City Council, Javier Sierra, has denounced the “irregularities” detected in the file for extrajudicial recognition of credit, discussed in the last plenary session. “Almost one million euros corresponding to unpaid invoices, mostly for services provided that did not have a contract or in some cases, which had expired two years ago and which, as of today, are still not renewed,” he said.

Sierra alerted “of the negligence in the payment of expenses related to parties with economic agreements higher than the market price”, as AI has been able to corroborate with companies in the sector. In addition, contracts for these same services have been verified with other administrations “for an amount of almost half of what was agreed in Icod de los Vinos”.

AI’s spokesperson publicly denounced the falsity of one of the expenses that it was intended to face in this procedure, “since not only had the service not been carried out, but also the economic amount of the same was almost 2,000 euros higher than the that company’s market price.

Faced with these warnings, the mayor, Francis González, “had no choice but to withdraw the bill from the file, formulating an amendment in voce during the plenary session,” the opposition group asserted.
