The pilot experience of temporary markets for street sales announced for Valle de Guerra, Taco and La Cuesta, with 97 stalls, has been readjusted to unify in a single space; Specifically, in the one located in La Cuesta and with 44 posts, for the trial period that started on the 10th and runs until February 14 of next year, according to an announcement published by the Promotion and Development Area. Local and Commerce of the City Council of La Laguna.
As explained in said announcement, “in view of the breaches observed on December 10, in the celebration of the market in Valle Guerra, La Cuesta and Taco, due to the absence of the participants in the assigned positions, it was carried out by the councilor of Trade and Economic Development verbal requirement for compliance”. However, last Wednesday, by decree, the councilor finally agreed to “freely dispose of the unoccupied positions, without the participants having the right to reimbursement or compensation for not having presented the participants indicated by the director of the Security Plan in the positions adjudicated in the respective markets on the 10th and 17th, and there is no previously communicated justified cause”.
That is why it has been decided to “suppress the markets of Valle Guerra and Taco and expand the one in La Cuesta to 44 stalls”, proceeding “to redirect all the participants who have complied with the celebration of the markets on the 10th and 17th of December, to a single location to be held in La Cuesta”.
As explained from the Area, “since the 10th the activity has been monitored and meetings have been held with the participants to agree on the measures, in addition to taking into account some resignations and rejections of the places granted, in accordance with the call . Applying the criterion of efficiency in the use of resources and jointly analyzing the investment strategy that it implies, it has been decided to make this new modification, which is part of the feasibility study process”. Thus, it will continue “with the pilot test in the Plaza del Tranvía de La Cuesta to continue evaluating the participation and effectiveness of the model, and it will be held on Saturdays, until February 14, as well as from January 2 to 5,” they added. . Once this pilot project is finished, the option of having permanent markets throughout the year will be studied.
