In La Caleta and the western zone, the transport of wastewater will be improved

The investment of the Council of Tenerifethrough the Municipal Cooperation and Housing area, and the Adeje City Council to develop the first phase of the project for a new conduction for wastewater generated in the surroundings of La Caleta and the western zone of Adeje to the general collector of the municipality. The Minister of Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, stressed that the capacity of the pipelines to transport sewage will increase and the conduction system will improve.

The works are included in the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo 2022-2025. The total item amounts to 2,376,979 euros, of which the Cabildo finances 70% (1,644,712 euros) and the Adeje City Council, the remaining 30% (732,267 euros).

The Island Government Council approved the attribution of the management of this first phase of the works to the Adeje City Council. The works will focus on install this infrastructure in order to guarantee the current needs of this service and future in this area of ​​the municipality. Its execution period is 10 months and will include the replacement of the firm and pavement that are affected by the works.

The work is part of the investments that are contemplated through the Adeje Hydrological Plan

The Councilor for Municipal Services of the Adeje City Council, Esther Rivero, pointed out that this first phase is among the investments that are contemplated through the Hydrological Plan of Adeje in terms of wastewater. Rivero said that “it is a very important investment” in which the Cabildo de Tenerife and the City Council are committed to improving the conduction of wastewater in the surroundings of La Caleta and the western part of the municipality. The councilor emphasizes that the objective is “that they reach the general collector directly without having to use an intermediate pumping station”

Zebenzuí Chinea highlighted the impulse of the Municipal Cooperation area to collaborate with the municipalities in water sanitation and purification projectswith the purpose of “solving the deficiencies detected in the hydraulic infrastructures in the municipalities and providing these services in adequate conditions”.
