The Council of Tenerife begins the necessary emergency works to repair the slope of the Autopista del Sur that runs from kilometer 13.25 to 13.40, which correspond to the lower area of the Cuesta de las Tablas (Candelaria), on the curve located before the connection to Las Caletillas. The TF-1 will be affected during working hours, because “it will be necessary to cut some sections of the road” in the south direction.
The insular area of Highways informs that until January 8, 2023, the works will be carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The island director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, points out that “during this time period, the right lane of the road will be cut in the south direction. As of that date, the work will be carried out at night, that is, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. On this occasion, it will be necessary to cut the entire roadway in the south direction. Consequently, the left lane will be enabled, in the Danta Cruz direction, for traffic moving south.

meters
The area affected by the work on the wall located next to the highway covers 150 meters of this road, located in a southerly direction from the curve before Las Caletillas.
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Highways area, starts some emergency works on the TF-1 highway of regional interest with the aim of cleaning up a slope that is located on the curve before the Las Caletillas junction, in the direction south. During working hours, it will be necessary to cut some sections of the track.
The insular Minister of Highways, Enrique Arriaga, explains the cause of this intervention and its emergency. He assures that “the means used to contain the structure of this slope are already very affected by previous landslides and by the passage of time, which makes it necessary to replace them immediately.” Arriaga maintains that “these works will guarantee the safety of users and the good condition of the road.”
The first vice president of the Cabildo de Tenerife also explains that “during the three months that the works will last, it is expected that the slope will be cleaned up in order to prevent future landslides.” At the same time, Enrique Arriaga details that the intervention – to which the Cabildo allocates 350,000 euros for the clearing, sanitation and insurance of this slope – “covers both the projection of concrete mortar to reinforce the structure, as well as the installation of a system of support formed by steel cables.
