The popular neighborhood of La Vera, in the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz, already has a renovated wake located on Camino Cordobés. The facilities were recently blessed by the parish priest of the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria church, according to José Peraza, official chronicler of this northern parish.
The presentation ceremony of this new wake was attended by several members of the Porto Corporation, such as the mayor, Marco González (PSOE), or the second deputy mayor and councilor for Sustainable City and Planning, David Hernández (ACP), in addition to numerous residents of the area. The wake-crypt of La Candelaria was initially inaugurated in 1989 and now, 33 years later, it has finally been adapted to current regulations on mortuary health. The installation will be managed through the specialized company Mémora.
