SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, has inaugurated today Thursday a new edition of the Children’s and Youth Park of Tenerife (PIT), which reopens its doors after two years without being held, with 35 different play areas, in which recreational activities are combined , physical and educational for girls and boys and their families.

The Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development, Employment and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, also participated in the opening ceremony of this new edition, which is inspired by world travel and discovery.

Pedro Martín stressed that today begins “the first day of play and fun of the fifteen in which the Children’s Park will be open to the public, for the enjoyment of families and, especially, for girls and boys”. “It also opens on dates to share with the family, such as Christmas, an expected return that indicates that the long-awaited normality has finally been recovered,” he added.

For the island president, “the PIT offers the entire population a few days of fun and entertainment, but also to raise awareness, because this year is dedicated to traveling the world, to bring the public closer to different environments, to publicize the natural wealth and raise awareness about the environment.

For her part, Carmen Luz Baso pointed out that it is “one of the most anticipated events of Christmas, which has become a tradition, with which, in addition to having a quality leisure offer and high added value for children and girls, we contribute to energize economic activity during these holidays”.

In this sense, he explained that only the assembly and maintenance of the fair requires the direct hiring of 250 people (monitors, security, cleaning, medical equipment, maintenance, organization, etc.), as well as many others indirectly.

This year the Park covers a total of 18,000 square meters dedicated to all kinds of activities, including an ice rink, mechanical attractions for the little ones, climbing and an area dedicated to the practice of various sports, such as basketball, ping-pong or minigolf.

There is also space for various training and educational workshops to raise awareness of the importance of caring for the environment and getting to know the environment that surrounds us, as well as live performances in the theater set up at the entrance.

The doors of the PIT will be open until Thursday, January 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with some special hours that can be consulted on the Fairgrounds website.

The entrance has a general cost of 9 euros and with it the visitor will be able to enjoy all the activities as many times as he wants. Children under 3 years of age, over 65 years of age and people with a disability certificate will be able to access for free, while for large families a reduced price of 6 euros has been agreed upon.
