SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 22 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de La Gomera has activated two lines of aid to promote self-consumption of energy in homes and companies on the island. This is the third year that these incentives have been launched, aimed at promoting the objectives set in the energy transition project undertaken by the Institution and which covers different aspects.

As explained by the president of the Cabildo, Casimiro Curbelo, “this is yet another example of the commitment that we have from La Gomera to address the implementation of renewable energies and that they are gaining ground in terms of energy generation,” he said.

Casimiro Curbelo wanted to remind that this reality will be “dimensioned” with the commissioning of the five wind farms at the beginning of next year. “This situation will allow us to have as much clean energy as we currently consume,” he added.

Thus, Curbelo pointed out that energy self-consumption in homes and companies is linked to measures such as the activation of the insular network of recharging points, energy self-sufficiency in public buildings or the creation of energy communities planned in various parts of the island.

Regarding the call for incentives, he specified that an initial item of 400,000 euros is allocated, of which 100,000 are dedicated to the line focused on companies, and 300,000 to applications that demand photovoltaic systems in homes.

The financial aid provided may not exceed 60% of the cost of the investment made. In homes, the amounts set range from 6,000 euros to 24,000, depending on the installed power and whether or not it is connected to the network. Meanwhile, in companies, the range goes from 6,000 euros to 12,000 euros.

In the case of companies, two forms of aid have been provided, depending on whether the expected power is greater or less than 10 kW. With respect to homes, four modalities have been established depending on whether or not they are connected to the network and if the power is greater or less than 10 kW, or up to a maximum of 40 kW if they are in neighboring communities.

The Cabildo channels the requests through two channels until January 20. In-person registration is enabled in which the completed application and the documentation required in the call must be provided. In addition, the online procedure can be carried out through the Electronic Office, according to the Minister of Industry, Miguel Melo.

“It is important to start the procedures as soon as possible to avoid setbacks. We have had two management points – the telematic and the face-to-face – with which to facilitate citizens the steps prior to formalizing their application,” he explained.
