Fabricio, father of two students from the IES Guazain Parque La Reina, in the municipality of Arona, has denounced before the inspection of the Ministry of Education and before the Civil Guard the alleged bullying that their children, Gabriela, 15 years old and with multiple sclerosis, and David, 12 years old, with autism, have suffered in recent weeks.
“Neither of them -he tells us- wants to return to the institute, after what happened last Thursday and yesterday (for Tuesday), when they suffered insults and attacks of all kinds due to group and racial bullying, calling my son dull, reckless and useless. ‘If you look at me, I’ll break your face’, they even told David”.
Fabricio has denounced the harassment his children endure before the school council and the center’s management, but “they tell us that they do not have special classrooms, enclave classrooms, because we are here on loan,” referring to the conditions of the center, known as the institute of the barracks.
“Given the zero response from the center, we have had to denounce these physical and verbal attacks before the Civil Guard and before the inspection of the Ministry, and the latter has summoned us for January 16. That is why we want to give visibility in the press to this problem, which is serious, in a school where there is no inclusion or curricular adaptation”, affirms Fabricio, who admits that his wife suffers from depression due to what is happening with David and Gabriela, determined to not going back to class because of “the fear they have in their bodies.”
Fabricio, regarding the shortcomings of the center and the difficulties of his children for a good teaching development, has wanted to join the school council of the center, but “there is a framework that has not allowed me to participate in the council elections,” he remarks.
