Sí Podemos accuses the insular PSOE of “burying Tenerife under cement”

«The PSOE of Tenerife It has shown that the only vision for the future they have for the Island is to continue working at the mercy of the wishes of the business community and employers, in order to continue burying Tenerife under cement and concrete. This was pointed out yesterday by María José Belda, spokesperson and insular councilor of Sí Podemos Canary Islandson the budgets of the Cabildo de Tenerife that the insular Government (PSOE and citizens) with the PP, and that will be approved today in plenary.

The progressive insular coalition Sí Podemos Canarias in the Tenerife Corporation, made up of Podemos, Sí se puede and Verdes Equo, appeared yesterday at a press conference to detail their opposition to the budget defended by the government team for the year 2023. «The PSOE has shown its true face by agreeing with the right, which confirms and aggravates its commitment to continuity policies and predatory, unnecessary and outdated CC projects, such as the Circuito del Engine or the impulse to the trains of the South and the North»Belda stressed.

The island spokeswoman and counselor stressed that in today’s plenary session for the approval of the budget, she will defend the amendment of Sí Podemos Canarias to the whole and the 63 partial amendments for an amount of almost 40 million euros. «We are the only political force that truly defends measures of social justice, wealth distribution, commitment to energy and food sovereignty, territorial and environmental protection, defense of sustainable mobility, animal welfare or promotion of culture, among others. proposals,” he said.

David Carballo, insular councilor of Sí Podemos Canarias, defended for his part that his political group “has been the only one that has truly complied with what was defended in its electoral program in 2019, remaining faithful to the intention of changing the insular policy that had Tenerife suffered at the hands of CC”. In relation to this, Carballo criticizes that “the PSOE has decided to turn its back on the true needs of the citizens of Tenerife, promoting CC projects together with its government partner Cs and the PP, thus demonstrating their false promises of change in the presidency of the insular corporation, to now carry out projects for electoral purposes ».
