The City Hall of Los Realejos and its Department of Education organized this Thursday, December 15 in the Plenary Hall an act tribute to the teachers who throughout this 2022 have passed to the retirement stage after carrying out their educational work in local schools or institutes, thus delivering a recognition and diploma as a sign of gratitude to a total of 18 teachers linked to the municipality.

“It was already time in this municipality to value them through a public act that would honor them and thank them for so much that they have given us, especially time and knowledge, but also affection. This is a tribute of his people and of so many generations that today, united, give thanks to them”, said the mayor of Los Realejos, Adolfo González (PP), during his speech. The royal mayor presided over the act together with the Councilor for Education, Carmen Rosa Pérez.

“If today you are in this Plenary Hall, if you have received the recognition from the town of Los RealejosIt is because they have sown respect and admiration among those of us who have passed through their hands and their professional work during our childhood or our adolescence. If they have been recognized today, it is because they are guilty of a difficult harvest, perhaps the most complicated in society, training people, contributing to making us better people”, indicated the royal mayor addressing the distinguished teachers.

Adolfo González recalled that his municipality “has a mayor who is a teacher and teacher by his own vocation and, although circumstantially and temporarily I dedicate myself to the work of active politics, sometimes one misses contact with the classroompreparing a program or the evaluation sessions, but, above all, having that direct you with the new generations and checking the progress in their learning every day and the lessons that they, of course, also offer us”.

The Realejos president reiterated his admiration for the 18 people who, already retired, have carried out educational tasks in the municipality of Los Realejos until this last year and recalled “the footprint sown by teachers and professors that during my time as a student they were my references, there are even those who continue to be so today, I am sure that you are also for many realejeros and realejeras ”.

On behalf of the retired teachers, he took the floor Maria del Pilar Rodriguez Perezwho expressed “gratitude to the people of Los Realejos and its municipal corporation for this recognition and the satisfaction that the task accomplished represents for those of us who have carried out teaching work for so many years, for so many people.”
