SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The El Tanque Ecomuseum will continue to provide its services and carry out informative activities thanks to the renewal, by the Cabildo de Tenerife, of the order for its management and maintenance until 2026.

The cost of this action, which includes maintenance, surveillance and cleaning of the facilities, amounts to 464,334 euros.

The insular Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, explains that the new assignment will include, as a novelty, the management of the El Tanque Ecomuseum tavern, “an infrastructure highly demanded and expected by residents of the municipality, which will generate several jobs and that will contribute to energize the activity of the municipality”.

In this sense, he recalls in a note that, since its commissioning in December 2018, “the Ecomuseum of El Tanque has become a reference agrotourism information center for the Isla Baja, dedicated to the maintenance, recovery and dissemination of our landscape, cultural and patrimonial values”.

In fact, in July 2022 the center had already registered more than 7,300 visitors.

The works contained within the order, carried out to the public company Tragsa, include the services of control and coordination of the visits, the interpreter guides and informants, the cleaning and surveillance service, the maintenance of the facilities and equipment and the management of the Ecomuseum tavern.

The commission will have a term of three years, which may be extended.

On the other hand, Javier Parrilla recalls that the island corporation will put out to tender the project for the enclosure and cover of the rest area of the Ecomuseum, worth 131,475 euros.

This action, which aims to offer visitors greater comfort during their visit, will be a reality in the first half of 2023.

The structure will be made up of three pillars, anchored to each other by transversal beams, which will provide the whole with stability and will serve as support for the covering.

The perimeter will be closed with folding glazing, which can be opened on hot days and closed to protect visitors from wind, heat or rain. In addition, heaters will be installed to acclimatize the interior on the coldest days.

In relation to the project, the island councilor also recalls that one of the requirements is that it does not create a visual conflict with the natural and built rural environment, in order to enjoy the sensation of being outdoors at any time of the year.
