The general secretary of the PSOE in Tacoronte and candidate for mayor in next year’s elections, Sandra Izquierdo, responds to the statements made yesterday by the mayor of Tacoronte, Jose Daniel Diazregarding the budget “abuse” of the Cabildo de Tenerife with the municipality.
According to Izquierdo, “the contact that the municipal councilor has maintained with the island institution in his four years at the head of the City Council is conspicuous by its absence, and he has not requested or transferred the need for any project for the municipality in this mandate.”
Izquierdo, who is a member of the tripartite government (NC, PSOE, Sí se puede), assures that the socialist municipal group “works in harmony with the Cabildo, transferring the demands of the citizenry from the powers that she and the councilors Tarsis Manuel Morales and Julio Navarro they hold in the Consistory. We are surprised by the mayor’s statements, when he has never summoned the government group to demand actions from the Cabildo, being the Socialists the ones who have managed the investments that are going to be carried out in the municipality from the corresponding areas ”.
In this sense, he anticipates that the City Council will receive from the Cabildo more than two million in investments of various kinds during the next twelve months. It has been the information advanced by the insular institution, which will close the budget item for Tacoronte in the plenary session on Friday.
Following this line -which adds up to three million euros invested during 2022-, the investments contemplated in the Cabildo’s draft budget for 2023 in Tacoronte exceed two million. Among the most important actions, it is worth mentioning the conditioning of the coastline and urban front of El Pris, as well as the drafting of the project and facultative management of the sewerage network of Mesa del Mar and El Pris; the commissioning with one last community use of the Finca Presas El Campo; the execution of the impulsion to the deposit of Fray Diego; the investment in regional hydraulic works of the CIATF in the northeast (which includes actions in La Laguna, Tacoronte and Tegueste), and an item to continue dealing with the problem of subterranean termites.
