A 65-year-old man died yesterday afternoon after being hit by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife tram.
The accident occurred at seven in the afternoon when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received a notice that the train had run over a pedestrian on the Príncipes de España avenue in the capital of Tenerife, at the height of the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital.
When the toilets of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) arrived at the scene, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest. They tried to revive him, without success, so his death was confirmed. The Local Police instructed the proceedings, as reported by 112.
