Valle Colino makes a drastic decision: “We will not collect more cats”

The Valle Colino Regional Hostellocated in the Tenerife municipality of La Laguna, has taken this Tuesday the drastic decision to pick up “no cats” after noticing on several occasions the overflow that the facilities had been suffering for some time.

“We do not allow more cats in our facilities, whether it is a cat found on the street or brought by its owner, whether it is a kitten or an adult cat, whether it is healthy or sick,” it has communicated. Hill Valley Through a statement released on social networks, in which they also point out that “there will be no exception except cats that are injured or run over.”

Those responsible advise that it be the people who “take care of them or find someone who can take care of them.” “Let’s hope that the appropriate institutions find a solution to this serious problem that affects us,” he adds.

Valle Colino admits that he has been forced to make the “sad decision” and begs for its dissemination “so that people know the situation we are going through.”

In the Valle Colino Regional Hostel Since 2005, they have been caring for and looking for a new home for more than 2,500 abandoned animals that, every year, they welcome in facilities from the four municipalities of the Metropolitan Area.

The shelter is managed by the Canarian Federation of Animal and Plant Protection Associations (FECAPAP) and controlled by the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, El Rosario and Tegueste, which are informed of the management they are carrying out. .

The Valle Colino Regional Hostel dedicates its activity to the protection and defense of animals. They rescue those who have been abandoned and try to give them a decent life in the center, as well as do everything possible so that they have the opportunity to be adopted and find a home where they are cared for. In Valle Colino they are saved, protected and can find a new home.
