Titsa transported 4,797,013 passengers last month, which represents an increase of 240,000 travelers compared to the month of October. The also Mobility Minister and president of the Cabildo transport company explains that this figure “represents 25% more travelers if we compare it with the month of November last year.” At the same time, he details that “the area in which the increase has been most noticeable is in the South, where a reorganization of lines has recently been carried out to improve the service.”
Also, Arriaga adds that in the North zone the growth has been 29 percentwhile in the metropolitan space it reached 22 percent.
The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, highlights that “during the month of November there was also greater use of the bank card as a method of payment, a sign that this system is having success and facilitating the use of public transport” .
Last Friday, Titsa presented three new buses for interurban use that will be destined for the long-distance lines to the south of the Island, which are the ones with the greatest demand for the service. These vehicles precede the 60 that the company plans to receive before April next year and the total of 120 that will be incorporated into its fleet throughout the 2023 financial year.
In the case of the last three received, the buses are intended to meet the demand of lines 10 -Tenerife Sur Reina Sofía Airport-, 110, 111 and 112, as they are the routes with the highest number of detected users, as announced by the Cabildo in the act of presentation of the vehicles.
