SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife (Titsa), a company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, has acquired three new interurban buses, worth 764,700 euros, which will be put into operation immediately and will mainly cover long-distance lines to the south such as 10 (aeroexpress), 110, 111 or 112, which connect to this area from the metropolitan area.

The insular Mobility Councilor and president of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga, told reporters that with this new acquisition “the commitment to public transport is reinforced in order to make it more competitive compared to private vehicles.”

In addition, he explained that the new buses “will serve to cover the high demand that is being generated by the new prices of season tickets.”

Arriaga also highlighted that “these MAN brand vehicles and the Lion’s Chassis CO 26.430 (RR4) model are the first of a batch of 60 that will arrive in stages until March” and explained that they have 59 seats for seated passengers. , 33 to travel standing and one place for a wheelchair”.

In addition, he said that “they are accessible vehicles, since, among other things, they have a lifting platform at the rear door for customers in wheelchairs and are equipped with light signals for customers with visual difficulties.”

In line with accessibility, they also have a next-stop singing system with activation through the ONCE universal remote control and, inside the bus, the space for guide dogs is signposted.

The insular director of Mobility, José Alberto León, explained that these new buses have the driver assistance system, which acts as an “eye without distractions” and performs a constant analysis of the road, identifying pedestrians and cyclists on the road. for the driver to avoid a possible collision.

The equipment is completed with two TFT signs for traveler information, and information for the next stop, as well as all the latest innovations such as USB ports or the Wi-Fi signal.
