The services of the tenerife tram will be reinforced during the weekends of the Christmas holidaysto facilitate efficient, comfortable and fast mobility to the commercial and leisure areas of Santa Cruz and La Laguna, indicated in a statement from the Tenerife Council.
This special service will be for the next two weekends, December 10 and 11, and December 17 and 18, since the following ones will coincide with Christmas Eve and Christmas and New Year’s Eve, days that will have their own private services.
The trams of Line 1 will operate this Saturday and the next every 8 minutes from 12:00 to 20:00, while on Sundays 11 and 18, they will operate every 10 minutes in the same time slot, and Line 2 will have frequencies about 15 minutes during these weekends.
Apart from these reinforcements, the trams will be in service with the usual weekend schedules and frequencies.
The Minister of Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, highlights “the effort and commitment of the tram staff to improve its transport offer during these Christmas dates, reinforcing it during the weekends and guaranteeing the service during the days of Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Three Wise Men’s Eve”.
He adds that this “allows us all to leave the car at home and relieve traffic in the metropolitan area in these days of great influx of citizens“.
Metrotenerife recalls that the use of a mask on board the trams is mandatory, and adds that users can find out about the tram service on the Metrotenerife website, www.mettenerife.com, and on its social networks, Facebook, Twitter (@tranviatenerife ) and Instagram.
