SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Metrotenerife, the transport company of the Cabildo de Tenerife, has activated its special Christmas services plan to increase the frequency of trams over the coming weekends.
In this way, Line 1 will increase its frequency at peak hours to eight minutes on Saturdays and ten minutes on Sundays in order to facilitate “effective, comfortable and fast” mobility to the commercial and leisure areas of Santa Cruz and La Laguna. , as reported by the Cabildo de Tenerife in a press release.
In this regard, the Minister of Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, has highlighted the “effort and commitment” of the tram staff to improve its transport offer during these Christmas dates, “reinforcing it during the weekends and guaranteeing the service during Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Three Wise Men’s Eve”.
This, he added, allows all citizens “to leave the car at home and relieve traffic in the metropolitan area in these days of great influx of citizens.”
The special service will be for the next two weekends, December 10 and 11, as well as December 17 and 18, since the following will coincide with Christmas Eve and Christmas, as well as New Year’s Eve, days that will have their private services.
The Line 1 trams will operate this Saturday, December 10, as well as next Saturday, December 17, every eight minutes from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m., while on Sundays, December 11 and 18, they will operate every ten minutes in the same time slot.
