SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

More than 6,000 people have supported the twenty-eighth edition of the ‘International Festival of the Story of Los Silos’ with their assistance during this December long weekend, to which more than 4,500 boys and girls have been on school visits since November 14.

The next edition will be held from December 5 to 9, 2023 and the festival’s director, Ernesto Rodríguez Abad, has been very excited about the recovery of the streets and the rescue of intimate spaces after the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this way, the festival of the Silense story has returned to enter the houses, the balconies, the patios and the farms ceded by the owners.

In total, more than 145 shows have been held without counting the complementary activities and many of the passes have sold out, endorsing the success of the festival and the connection with an audience that does not want to miss an iota of this meeting.

There have been free and ticketed activities and this last condition has not been an excuse to sell out shows such as the round of storytellers, Arteterror, evenings of children’s fear, family story sessions, story sessions for babies or the demonstrations that combined the Teno Alto cheese with the narration, collects a note from the organization.

In addition, children’s and family programming has been the most demanded by the public.

Rodríguez Abad also points out as a hopeful fact the inclusion of very young people from the municipality participating in the programming.

“They themselves have written the scripts, they have prepared the shows and that is something impressive because it means that the festival has a future”, commented the director.

On the other hand, he has highlighted that the most serious literary experiences, such as book presentations or meetings with authors, have been filled, “awakening the interest of the public in the world of books and in the author”.

However, if there is something that has caused real excitement for the director of the Silense festival, it is the inauguration of the exhibition ‘El bosque de los cuentos’ in the festival house-museum.

“We have verified people’s interest in this and I feel that listening to a story in that room is a privilege. The sensitivity of literature without comparison is breathed,” he says.

Another notable aspect of the festival is the intimate character that continues to be preserved despite its magnitude. “We have implemented the strategy of doing shows simultaneously and separated in location to avoid crowding the public. We will always keep the shows for the general public, but we want to remain intimate with small formats,” he argues.

Ernesto Rodríguez Abad also wanted to highlight the exemplary behavior of the public showing great respect at all times and the “maintained silence”. “It’s something I noticed in the ‘La orilla dorada’ show, where a liturgical, ceremonial environment was created and in which the word could be lived in a very special way,” he concludes.
