SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Javier Parrilla, and the mayor of La Victoria, Juan Antonio García, have visited the already completed improvement and paving works on the Rural Road of Los Barranquillos.
Javier Parrilla highlighted the importance of this action, in which 278,000 euros have been invested and which will allow direct and indirect access to a total of 26 agricultural plots on the Bucaro road.
The insular person in charge wanted to remember, in addition, that these improvement works will benefit a total of 168 hectares, of which 166 are dedicated exclusively to vineyards, the majority crop in this area. The vineyard, in fact, represents practically half of the agricultural land of the municipality, which reaches 325 hectares.
Javier Parrilla also stressed that the works have also contributed to improving the security of the area, “as well as the comfort and independence of entry and exit, favoring the establishment of cultivation.”
For his part, the mayor of La Victoria indicated that these works respond to a “historic demand” from farmers in the area: “The exterior improvement of the land, the construction of stone walls and the conditioning of the accesses for the passage of wheeled vehicles will help ensure that the victorious field is better cared for and attended to”.
Juan Antonio García thanked the Cabildo for its support and valued the importance of this road for the residents of the municipality, “who use it as a space for walking.” In addition, he said that it is “an opportunity for runners who participate in sports events in La Victoria to get to know us in the best conditions”.
The Camino de Los Barranquillos has a total length of 370 meters and runs between two streets: Los Altos Street to the west and Fuente del Tanque Street to the east, where there were sections that were barely one meter wide. Thanks to this action, a roadway width of more than three meters has been achieved, with siding areas of up to 4.5 meters.
Regarding the materials used, the path has an eight centimeter thick uncolored concrete surface layer and 128 meters of wooden safety barriers have been installed.
