The Matanzas City Council approves the highest budget in its history

The City Council of La Matanza approved in the last municipal plenary session the accounts for the next year, converted with its 20,292,701 euros into the highest in the history of the municipality. With respect to 2022, they increase by 2,748,648 euros, “a growth of 15.67% that is reflected in all the chapters and that went ahead with the vote in favor of the government group and the vote against of the opposition.”

«As explained in its report, responsibility, realism and exhaustive planning will continue to characterize spending, as a guarantee that each euro from residents is used with the utmost criteria, to meet real and justified demands that prioritize community welfare”collects the press release sent by the Consistory of Matanzas.

The government group insisted “that, directly or transversally, each euro spent will have an impact on an improvement in the situation of families from Matanzas, channeling resources and objectives towards maintaining quality of life and creating job and opportunities for development as the main axis”. And he added in the aforementioned press release: “Facing this challenge without increasing the fiscal pressure on families is possible thanks to the collection of external resources carried out by the Matanzas council.”

The investment chapter is the one with the largest amount, with 10,561,374 euros, “a figure that will allow us to continue the path started years ago, prioritizing resources towards projects that involve the direct generation of jobs”. The extension of the House for the Elderly stands out, with 3,203,600 euros; the Rural Youth Hostel, with 500,000 euros; the actions planned for the El Montillo Natural Park, with 676,435 euros, or the remodeling, transformation and transition of the Farmer’s Market towards a 4.0 ecosystem with 1,140,429 euros. Also noteworthy, due to its impact on quality of life, is the Improvement of the Hydraulic Performance of the Supply Network, with an item of 1,492,126 euros, or 352,000 euros for Replacement and Improvement of Tracks.
