‘Dreams come back’, motto of the Christmas party in Candelaria

Christmas dreams return to candlemas with a program that pays special attention to the little ones, who will light up Christmas today, in the Plaza de la Patrona, from 5:30 p.m.. the mayor, Mari Brito, invited the boys and girls to participate in this act since they “symbolize a future in which we hope they will not experience anything similar again, nor in which wars take place. Our little ones deserve to be protagonists of this rite. Together we will light a new time and we will ask, with each bulb, that our hopes for 2023 be fulfilled.

The children of Candelaria light up Christmas will mark the beginning of the activities, with the performance of La Circoneta de Totó el payaso, the special visit of Micky and Donald and the performances of Sheila Torres and Dixieland Las Candelas, which will give way to the switching on the lighting and the great tree of lights from the Plaza de la Patrona.

The Tapas and Wines Fair will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Los Pescadores, to taste the products of the El Rebusco, Viña Gómez, La Vera, El Silencio, Ferrera, Comarcal Valle de Güímar, Hermanos Mesa, CHP and Mencey de Chasna. Accompany the gastronomy of Romén Restaurant, El Perchero, Casa José and El Palmelita. The prices of the tapas will be 2 and 3 euros and the glass will be 1.50 euros, just like the crystal glass. Everything, accompanied by the music of Christmas Rock, Rolling del Son and Dj Richard.

The little ones are the protagonists of the lighting and the tree in the Plaza de la Patrona today

The little ones will enjoy the Magical House of Santa Claus at the Old Cinema, on the 22nd and 23rd, and on the Night of Dreams, which will welcome the Three Wise Men the day before in the Plaza de la Patrona, the rotating parking lot, the portico of the Town Hall and the surrounding streets. There will be recreational activities and previous shows. A previous tour of Their Majesties through the main streets of the towns is incorporated. Other children’s events will be the Ninja Turtles show or the Pirulín Pirulero Urban Christmas Camp, for children from 3 to 11 years old, from December 26 to January 5.

Dynamization

The local government renews its commitment to commerce. Brito alludes to the revitalization campaigns to encourage purchases with the raffle of 20 gourmet boxes, which contain items from the Product Club, among those who buy from fifty member companies. Candelaria Tapas at Christmas, from December 15 to January 8, and the magical bike rides along Calle La Arena and Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias are other incentives. Like the fair of balances The + Cool Outlet Christmas 2022, to celebrate the 11th, with the novelty of a gift-wrapping service in the Christmas cabins to be located on Rambla Los Menceyes and the town center. All this, with workshops, parades, open-air dynamization, parallel actions and the Local Product Market, which has its own Christmas programme.

The Bethlehem and the music

One of the great attractions is the Municipal Bethlehem, installed in the Plaza del Centro Cultural de la Villa, which will be inaugurated on Sunday and can be visited until February 2. Music will have a prominent place, with the 5th Candelaria International Clarinet Festival, Kids & swing of the White Voices Choir and Big Band, directed by Gustavo Campos; the special of the Contemporary Orchestra and Choir of Tenerife, with Emilio Coello as guest conductor, and the first joint and extraordinary concert of the Las Candelas Music Band and the Nueva Banda de Igueste, with the singer Tony del Cielo. There will be no shortage of Christmas carols with more than 12 folkloric groups, the street rounds of the divinethe meeting of electroacoustic music and the Christmas concerts of the bands, choir and music schools.

End of the year and sports

The Tenerife orchestra and the Saoco group will welcome 2023, with the New Year’s Eve party in the Plaza de la Patrona. Previously, on the 17th the popular San Silvestre race returns in its ninth edition and the Table Tennis Championship, the VIII International Festival of Figure Skating, the X Basketball Campus and the Iñaki Guera Esteban Memorial soccer tournament will be held.

The program is completed with book presentations, children’s activities in the libraries, visits to nativity scenes, dances for the elderly, radio programs, Christmas parties, Christmas Eve masses, routes along trails, talks, workshops, exhibitions and conferences.
