The Canary Islands have not reported new cases of monkeypox since November 8

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has not reported any confirmed case of monkeypox since Tuesday, November 8, while there are no new cases under study.

Since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 177 confirmed cases, of which 104 were detected in Gran Canaria, 66 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma. All active cases are having mild symptoms.

Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands from the start of the alert and up to today are as follows: 177 confirmed cases, 104 in Gran Canaria, 66 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, two in Lanzarote and one in La Palma.

The protocol of the Ministry of Health classifies cases between probable and suspicious depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if he only presents clinical criteria and in such a case is considered a suspected case.
