SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Japanese chain Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) visited La Gomera this week to record the travel program ‘Tabi Salad’, one of the most watched formats in Japan, with large audience ratings in the city of Tokyo and the area of Osaka. La Gomera will be the protagonist, together with Tenerife, Lanzarote and La Palma, of one of the episodes of this program, which will be broadcast on December 10.
The Island Councilor for Tourism, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted the importance of this action for the promotion of the island’s landscape, cultural and gastronomic values, “especially in an emerging market such as the Japanese tourist”.
Méndez pointed out that this action follows the promotional strategy established by Turismo de La Gomera and the Marketing Plan set by Turespaña for 2022, “with which it is intended to strengthen promotional channels to maintain and recover our main source markets, as well as open doors towards other new niches and profiles of tourists with great potential for the island”.
During the recording period, the team has been able to film an extensive documentary in which all the riches of the Canary Islands will be projected, including culture, gastronomy, landscapes, and National Parks, as well as some specific features of each island. In the case of La Gomera, the Garajonay National Park and the Silbo Gomero stand out, both World Heritage Sites, in addition to the variety of accommodation on offer, and typical agri-food products.
The visit of the Japanese producer to the island of La Gomera has been endorsed by the Spanish Tourist Office in Tokyo, in collaboration with Turismo de La Gomera and Promotur of the Government of the Canary Islands.
