SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Department of Historical Heritage of La Laguna will recover from next Tuesday the traditional dramatized routes in the streets of the historic center, without capacity restrictions, with free access and without the need for prior registration.

With the title ‘La Laguna, Eternal City’, the activity carried out by the Burka Teatro company returns to coincide with the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the declaration of La Laguna as World Heritage.

The councilor for the area, Elvira Jorge, highlighted precisely the fact that “the theater in the streets is being rescued again, with this proposal, which is a specific commission from the Heritage area to the Burka company to develop a route for all audiences , which recreates a perfectly documented historical fact mixed with the literary and theatrical story and playing with reality and fiction”.

In this case, the main plot revolves around the figure of Magdalena Jóvel, widow of Hernando del Hoyo Solórzano, in her last days of life, and who intends to plan her burial. But her heirs, fearful that she will squander the family fortune with her excesses, decide to threaten her by telling her a terrible and “hairy” secret: that of Petrus known as the “wild gentleman of Tenerife” or the “canary werewolf”, and his offspring .

A total of ten functions will be carried out combining literary and theatrical stories through the streets of La Laguna. The first of the performances takes place on Tuesday 29 at 6:00 p.m., and will continue every day of the week in a double session at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., until Sunday, December 4 (in which there will only be a performance tomorrow). .

The routes will start from the Plaza del Adelantado and will have two alternative endings, depending on each session. Some of the settings that will narrate this peculiar story will be the Plaza de las Clarisas, the Lercaro Palace, the Bishopric and the Chapter Houses, the La Laguna Cathedral and the Montañés House.

For the realization of this dramatized route Burka has a cast made up of the actors Salvador Ortega, Lioba Herrera, Nuhr Jojo, Yoel Hernández and Tairuma Méndez and the dancer Charo Febles, with the coordination of the historian Néstor Verona and the interpretation and direction of Nacho Crenellate.
