SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 26 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Second Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, Finance and Modernization of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Berta Pérez, together with the Managing Director of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez, recently received the Swedish Ambassador to Spain, Teppo Tauriainen.
At the meeting, Berta Pérez announced the foreign-oriented policies promoted by the Cabildo to favor the expansion of Tenerife companies into new markets.
The second vice-president valued the particularities and potential that Tenerife offers for the Swedish market, a country with which good commercial relations are maintained in different sectors, as well as in areas as important as tourism, as the island is one of the preferred destinations by the Swedish population when it comes to enjoying their holidays.
The island manager thanked the good predisposition offered by the ambassador to generate synergies and continue to strengthen relations between both territories.
The ambassador highlighted that every year 500,000 Swedish men and women visit the islands, which has aroused their interest in getting to know the destination personally, its tourist offer and exploring the possibilities of collaboration that contribute to strengthening this sector, as well as other economic fields.
This was indicated during the meeting in which he was accompanied by the honorary consul of Sweden in the Canary Islands, Dunia Cubas. The meeting has also served to exchange impressions on the upcoming Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
After the visit, the CEO of Foreign Action, Liskel Álvarez, accompanied the diplomatic delegation to a business conference at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Chamber of Commerce, organized with the aim of bringing the Swedish market closer to Tenerife companies.
Álvarez indicated that this meeting has served to inform Tenerife companies about the different sectors of opportunity for export, as well as to address aspects to take into account to do business not only in the Swedish country, but in the rest of the Nordic countries. and Baltic regions.
The event was attended by the president of the foreign trade commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Arturo Escuder, and the deputy regional director of Commerce of ICEX in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Cristina García.
