For the founder of Gamelab, this event “not only provides inspiration”, it also underlined the importance and uniqueness of the fact that the first European summit of the video game sector is held in Tenerifepresenting this event as a show of maturity and ambition on the part of an industry “who wants to be a cultural and economic engine for Europe”, he assured.

More than 100 speakers and delegates are expected in an event that represents a total of 17 countries and 90 companies of international relevancewhich as of November 28 will share knowledge and experience with 500 professionals from all over Europe, in addition to reflecting on the future of the industry and the medium.

“Tenerife has enviable conditions to develop and promote the creativity that video game companies need, and it can be a place of relief for the pressure imposed by the unstoppable growth of the sector in the main European cities”, commented Fernández Lobo. “That the European leaders choose Tenerife to meet could lead to important business opportunities for our country”, he concludes.

The first part of Gamelab Tenerife will be private and will be completed with a public event on November 28 at the Auditorio de Tenerife, bringing together industry associations, development studios, publishers, training centers, investment funds and technology platforms. The complete agenda will be revealed through the official website of the event.

Tenerife, betting on the video game industry

As we anticipated, Gamelab Tenerife will start on November 28 at 10:30 a.m. and will end around 6:30 p.m. Those interested in attending this public event may do so through the Plaza Castillo in the Auditorio de Tenerife.

The event will be divided into several areas where attendees can enjoy different activities, such as sessions by veterans of the video game industry, Developer Sessions, round tables, trainings, talks and interviews with members of the indie industry. As a celebration of the national indie development, IndieGG Encounters will accompany the congress with the Indie Showcase; an exhibitor of audiovisual content in which visitors will be able to discover video games from the independent scene at the national level. The finishing touch will be the Indie Pitch of the Developer Sessions, where some studios will have the opportunity to present their projects to the general public.

“Gamelab Tenerife is much more than a meeting place for video game lovers. It is a business opportunity for the Island, a pioneering experience in which we take a step forward in terms of innovation and technology in the Canary Islands”, pointed out Enrique Arriaga, Innovation Councilor of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
