The Tenerife North Airport-City of La Laguna has installed a system to automate passenger access to security control prior to the boarding area. The implementation of this system has required the placement of six new points of electronic readers of boarding passes, just before reaching the line of detector arches through which travelers and their hand luggage pass before flying.
Of the new doors installed, four are single-pass and two are wider to facilitate access for families with baby carriages and People with Reduced Mobility (PRM). Its objective is to provide greater autonomy to the passenger, since they will be able to access the inspection area directly with their boarding pass, without the need for assistance or contact with support. He will only have to bring his boarding pass to the gate reader and it will automatically verify the information of the airline and the flight, allowing him to pass.
This new system, which is part of the quality plan of the Tenerife North Airport-Ciudad de The lagooncontributes to the automation of airport processes and streamlines access control to the security filters prior to the boarding area, achieving a more uniform flow of passengers and also reinforcing the sectorization of the area, which, in short, , contributes to improving the traveler’s experience at the Tenerife airport.
