SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, has announced the beginning, before the end of November, of the rehabilitation and urban improvement works of the La Campana Industrial Estate, in the municipality of El Rosario, with the aim of ” recover lost time”.

This is how he transferred it this afternoon to the businessmen of the area in the meeting he held at the Cabildo headquarters to inform them of the work plans and the conditions of the contract, signed on November 15, with the UTE La Campana, integrated by Satocan, Hidrotec and Ten Asfalto, for its execution.

The Minister for Employment and Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, as well as representatives of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Urban Management Company (Gestur) and the winning joint venture also participated in the meeting.

Pedro Martín emphasized “the interest that the Cabildo has in solving the problems of one of the most deteriorated industrial areas on the island of Tenerife” and estimated the budget for the planned works at just over 13 million euros which, despite from being a purely urban space, they are financed by the insular Corporation.

Regarding the works plan, he explained that various alternatives have been sought to try to generate as little disruption as possible, establishing a work schedule from Wednesday to Sunday, to try to take advantage of the weekends, and delaying the start time to 10:00 a.m. , instead of at 07:00, to try to take advantage of weekends, to facilitate early-morning access for workers and customers.

In addition, the agreement indicates that the asphalting will always be done at night except for some exceptional occasion, in order to also make traffic in the area as difficult as possible.

The president explained that it is a complex work, which entails an execution period of just over a year, with which “we hope to solve once and for all the problems of a polygon abandoned for many years and that in this mandate we We have set the goal of finding a solution.”

He added that the list of planned works includes improvements to sanitation facilities, storm water supply, public lighting, telecommunications, low and medium voltage facilities, in addition to asphalting and paving the entire area.

Pedro Martín recalled that this project joins other investments carried out by the Cabildo in the area, among which he highlighted the 1.5 million euros that were invested in the construction and start-up of a wastewater treatment plant, with the that a solution was found to a historical problem, and the improvement of the connection of the industrial estate with the TF-1, in which another million euros was invested, to prevent water runoff from reaching the motorway in the event of rain.
