SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The area of the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate for Research and Coordination of Sustainable Development, will hold the ‘I Sustainable Canary Islands Meeting’ next Monday and Tuesday. Progress of the Canary Islands Agenda 2030′.
Specifically, it involves two days of analysis and reflection with the island’s social actors to debate and analyze the different milestones reached in the implementation of the Canary Islands 2030 Agenda and its 17 SDGs adapted to the reality of the islands.
This appointment coincides practically with the first anniversary of the approval in Jameos del Agua, Lanzarote island, of the strategic framework of the Canary Islands Agenda 2030.
In this multi-stakeholder forum, the main representatives of the five dimensions covered by the Canary Islands Agenda 2030 – people, planet, prosperity, public governance, and cultural heritage and culture – will be present.
The objective of the conferences, details the Government in a note, is to consolidate itself as a platform for debate and participation in which Canarian society can learn about the actions that are being carried out to achieve more sustainable islands, apart from reporting on the goals defined to be achieved in the coming years.
It should also be noted that this meeting, which will have two face-to-face spaces, both at the headquarters of the Government Presidency, in the capital of Tenerife and in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, together with the telematic participation, seeks the involvement of the Canaries , who will be able to use this space for analysis and debate to provide suggestions, ideas and proposals that contribute to the development of sustainability in the archipelago.
